Wagamon (popularly known as Vagamon), is an Indian hill station town located in Peerumedu taluk of Idukki district. This haven, in Kottayam-Idukki border of Kerala, has been listed by National Geographic Traveller as one of the “50 most attractive places to visit in India”. An excellent tourist terminal, situated 1200 meters above sea level is surrounded by greenery of tea gardens, fresh cool air, hypnotising pine forests, small waterfalls and alluring meadows.String of hillocks, valleys and gushing waterfalls make it an ideal place for tourists.

Wagamon falls are also called Palaruvi while Kurisumala Ashram also known as the “mount of transfiguration” houses a community of spiritual seekers. Thangalpara situated 2500 metres above sea land, is a spherical rock formation which is quite unique and has a spiritual significance to a Sufi saint Hasrath Sheikh Fariduddin Baba who used the stone 8 centuries ago. The stone is said to have grown after his death and his tomb is also located next to this unique stone. Barren Hills is perfect for  trekking, rock climbing and paragliding. While Murugan Mala is famous for a splendid rock-cut temple dedicated to Lord Murugan, Maramala waterfalls is a natural water body cascading from a height of 60 metres. Wagamon Pine forest is popular for nature walks and photography. The Mundakayam Ghat is a ghat passing through a mesmerising terrain in the region, famous for bird watching, paragliding and nature walks. Pattumala Church (famous for it’s architecture), Idukki Arch dam built on the river Periyar and Marmala waterfalls known as “enchantress of the jungle” are crucial tourist sites of Wagamon.
